Music Preserves Foundation is dedicated to expanding the knowledge of American music and culture. Our courses explore the evolution of American music from work songs, spirituals and early blues to multi-cultural improvisation and early jazz through the migration north into electric blues and the improvisational genius of bebop. We trace the influences that led to early rock and roll and the many branches of music that followed in a captivating series of lessons that include lectures, music, video, art, history and geography weaved together to paint an in-depth picture of America's musical art forms and the pioneers who created the music, reflected the world they lived in, strived to push society forward and created the art and music that authentically tells America's story.
